My New Old Belt

From leather sofa to leather belt.

Sustainable belts made from re-loved leather combined with vegetable-tanned saddle leather.

From leather sofa to leather belt.

Every year, a huge amount of usable leather ends up in incinerators. We think that’s a shame, as it’s excellent leather for making beautiful belts, for example.
We once dismantled a leather sofa ourselves to make belts from the leather. But what should we, as a small workshop, do with so much leather, and how should we go about it? In short, it remained just an idea.
Then Circuleather came our way.
In collaboration with local authorities, they collect large seating furniture and social workshops sort, cut and clean the leather. Through Circuleather, designers, craftsmen and companies can purchase this leather as a sustainable alternative to new leather.
We use this leather in combination with new vegetable-tanned saddle leather to make our My New Old Belt belts. The belts are stitched with recycled thread and finished with extremely strong stainless steel buckles.
Sturdy belts with history, made to last for years.

Types of My New Old Belt belts

My new old belts are made in small series from re-loved leather and are available in different colours, depending on the leather we have in stock. The belts are 4 cm wide, stitched with recycled thread and finished with extremely strong stainless steel buckles.

We make various types of handmade belts in our workshop: that’s why we have the perfect belt for everyone. In addition to the beautiful Hebbich belts, in the same style but with a different type of leather, we have the casual Heritage belts. Looking for a belt with a cool design? Then take a look at the Stoerens belts or, something completely different: the Nolstalgy belts. Fun fact: we printed advertising from the 50s on this belt!
